I wanted to build a special surprise itinerary to celebrate my husband's 40th birthday and reached out to Casa Karima for help in planning. The owner, Karen, was so wonderful to work with, answering all of my questions and helping brainstorm ideas for the itinerary. Our guide to Mismanay and visit with the local community was super special, followed by a delicious lunch at MIL Central. A once-in-a-lifetime experience we will carry in our hearts forever. Casa Karima was, without a doubt, one of the most meaningful things we have ever done as a couple. From the very first message, their team made us feel like we were in the best hands. Every detail was thought through, every question was answered with warmth and care, and on the day itself, all we had to do was show up and be present — completely present — for each other. The ceremony itself moved us deeply. Standing in that remote, breathtaking landscape, surrounded by the mountains and the stillness of the lake, while the shaman led us through the Pago a la Tierra and offered prayers to Pachamama and the Apus — it was something that no words can fully do justice to. We felt genuinely connected to the land, to the ancient traditions, and most importantly, to each other in a way that reminded us why we chose this path together. What truly sets Casa Karima apart is how they hold the entire experience with such intention and love. Nothing felt rushed or transactional. Everything felt sacred and personal, like it was created just for us. If you are thinking about renewing your vows or celebrating your union in a way that goes beyond the ordinary — do this. Karen and her team were incredible from start to finish. Their organization, local insight into hidden spots near Cusco, and amazing photography truly went above and beyond what I expected. When planning the surprise proposal, Karen listened to what I wanted—somewhere beautiful and private—and suggested a location that was absolutely perfect. There’s no way I would have found a location as stunning and remote as what she proposed on my own. Her communication was excellent, and the team handled so much behind the scenes that it made everything easy for me. I also really appreciated how accommodating they were when I needed to change the schedule. Huge thanks to Keko, who captured the moment flawlessly and delivered photos that we’ll cherish forever.
