I wanted to build a special surprise itinerary to celebrate my husband's 40th birthday and reached out to Casa Karima for help in planning. The owner, Karen, was so wonderful to work with, answering all of my questions and helping brainstorm ideas for the itinerary. Our guide to Mismanay and visit with the local community was super special, followed by a delicious lunch at MIL Central. A once-in-a-lifetime experience we will carry in our hearts forever. Casa Karima was, without a doubt, one of the most meaningful things we have ever done as a couple. From the very first message, their team made us feel like we were in the best hands. Every detail was thought through, every question was answered with warmth and care, and on the day itself, all we had to do was show up and be present — completely present — for each other. The ceremony itself moved us deeply. Standing in that remote, breathtaking landscape, surrounded by the mountains and the stillness of the lake, while the shaman led us through the Pago a la Tierra and offered prayers to Pachamama and the Apus — it was something that no words can fully do justice to. We felt genuinely connected to the land, to the ancient traditions, and most importantly, to each other in a way that reminded us why we chose this path together.
